While the New York Knicks are determined to land a top-tier free agent like Kawhi Leonard, Kevin, Durant, or Kyrie Irving, that doesn’t mean they aren’t looking at all their options. As it turns out, the Knicks are “keeping an eye on” another Celtic point guard: Terry Rozier.
Boston values Rozier as he is a vital part of their rotation, and hold the right to match any offer extended to the young guard. However, “Scary Terry” wants a more prominent role and may seek a change of scenery when free agency begins on June 30.
But are the Knicks a good fit?
They already have several ball handlers in Frank Ntilikina and Dennis Smith Jr., but Rozier would represent a substantial upgrade.
During his 2019 campaign, the Louisville product averaged 9.0 points and 2.9 assists in just 22.7 minutes per game, but these numbers do not even begin to describe his effectiveness of the basketball court.
He is even harder to defend off the hardwood…
Whether the Celtics let Rozier walk or not remains to be seen, but you can be sure that the Knicks will be monitoring the situation intently.
